Our Fashion Legacy team recently had the pleasure of conducting a fashion career talk at Ntinda Vocational Training Institute on Tuesday, April 9th. We held a career talk for a passionate group of 48 female students and 1 male student enrolled in the fashion and design program.

Our talk aimed to provide the students with a clearer understanding of the fashion industry, empowering them to make informed career choices.  Many students expressed interest in obtaining professional qualifications and skills. We emphasized the importance of building experience and becoming proficient in their craft while they pursue academic credentials in the fashion field.

The students were energetic and demonstrated a genuine passion for fashion design. Our talk even sparked a conversation with their tutors, who also had insightful questions.

One of the key pressing issues discussed was student retention. The tutors sought advice on how to address the high drop-out rate after the first term.  We suggested that incorporating exciting fashion programs into the curriculum could significantly enhance student engagement.  A fashion show emerged as a particularly appealing idea, and we’re thrilled at the prospect of collaborating on this event in the future.

The talk was such a huge  success, and we’re grateful to the dean of students for the opportunity to connect with these aspiring fashion professionals.
